30 Nov Baan Bua Homestay – Chiang Rai
Baan Bua Homestay, this is the hostel I stayed in Chiang Rai, for two nights.
One of the best things on Baan Bua Homestay is the fact that it is just 5 minutes walk from the bus station and the night market.
The place is a wooden house, and it is clean. The best was the bed, it was very comfortable. WiFi was not working very good, though.
They don’t have lockers and they are not very attentive and open to the guests, if you ask them for information about what to see or what to do, they will give you a quick answer and they will try to sell you the whole day tour before helping you giving directions to go anywhere. The whole day tour they sell is 1000B, believe me, this is too expensive. You can find the same tour for around 700B, or even go and visit the places by yourself.
For backpackers, anyway it is a good option. The bathrooms are not in the rooms, although, every room has its respective bathroom to share only with the people from the room. I was lucky, as I had booked a dormitory sharing with 5 more people, but when I arrived they where full, so they gave me a twin room only for me, not sharing and with no extra cost!!
Regarding the atmosphere, is not the best hostel where to meet new people. So if you are a solo traveler, better try to find a best option.
So it is not the best hostel I’ve been, but if you look for a clean place, only for sleeping and showering, that would be perfect.
